The assignment: ESOL 043 Outlining Exit Project

Your assignment requires you to find an academic article about a college-level course topic. Each article must be at least six pages.

Below is a list of some of the disciplines taught at Richland College. Think about a topic within these disciplines that you may enjoy and for which you will find a six-page article from the Richland College library databases. For example, you may be interested in the death penalty, which would fall under criminal justice and is a much-discussed topic in many courses.

Anthropolgy | Art | Biology | Chemistry | Computer Science | Criminal Justice | Dance | Earth Science | English | Government   History | Humanities | Mathematics | Music | Nanotechnology | Psychology | Sociology | Speech Communications

Here is an an article that discusses youth in the criminal justice system:
St. Vincent, Stephen. "Commentary: Kids are Different." Michigan Law Review 109.9 (2010): 9-15. Academic Search Complete. Web. 7 June 2011.

Here is an article about a woman who has a genetic disorder that causes her to age faster than normal:
Wheelwright, Jeff. "Ginger's Gene." Discover Magazine. Kalmbach Publishing Co., Oct. 2009. Web. 8 June 2011.

Both of these articles are at least six pages in their original formats (hard-copy periodicals), both discuss topics that might be covered in a college course, and both are from credible sources. When choosing an article to outline, consider those aspects of the article. (Look at the page numbers listed on the article citation to see if the article is at least six pages. Do NOT worry if the HTML version of your article looks a little different than it did in the original printing.)
